Women in mining complete training

FOURTEEN women executives from the Ramu NiCo mining impacted areas of Kurumbukari, Maigari, Wassmatau and Basamuk have graduated following a two-week intensive capacity building training in Madang.
The workshop is part of the Governance and Institutional Capacity Building for Women’s Association and Groups in Mining and Petroleum Impacted Areas
The Nov 23-Dec 4 training saw the executives equipped with skills and knowledge on SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunities and threats) analysis, strategic planning, human resources management, financial management and communication and records keeping.
Guest speaker and Ramu NiCo senior Government liaison officer, Ivan Mullul, challenged the graduates to utilise the knowledge obtained for the benefit of their respective association and further work closely with Ramu NiCo.
The trainers were from GHT, a private consultancy firm.
