Women in rugby thank PRL

THE Port Moresby Women’s Rugby League Association has expressed its appreciation to the PRL Board for its ongoing support of the involvement of women in the code.
Speaking at the recent presentation of K20,000 to Women In League (WIL) by MVIL, president Elise Siki said the support from the PRL board and its respective clubs was indeed a vote of confidence for the women folk participating in the competition.
She said it was through such support and commitment by them that ensured that women’s rugby league especially in the city had come this far.
Siki, on behalf of her executives expressed her gratitude to the Vice-Minister for Sport and Moresby Northeast MP, Labi Amaiu, the PRL board and PNGRFL including all the women league players, fans and supporters for making their 2012 competition a very successful one.
A possible curtain raiser for this weekend’s PM’s XIII match is not yet confirmed however WIL has named two teams for a match.
