Women play key role in church’s meet

WOMEN always play a crucial role in the life of the Christian churches in Papua New Guinea.
At every major conference, meeting or synod, women play a key part in preparation, actual running of the meetings and ensuring everyone is fed and happy.
This is the case with the forthcoming synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Papua New Guinea.
It is the women who are bringing in the food and it is they who are organising the catering and ensuring the
1,000 plus delegates are fed three
meals a day throughout the week-long synod.
The women are also ready to provide the traditional welcome with the beating of the kundu drums and the garamut to usher in the delegates.
They will perform at the synod venue, the Martin Luther Seminary to welcome guests to the special service to officially bless and open the synod centre.
