TWO women are among councillors sworn in at the Kutubu local level government, Nipa-Kutubu district, Southern Highlands, last Friday.

They were Anne Hewago representing Foe and Agnes Kiage representing Faso.

The swearing-in ceremony for the LLG president and councillors was held at the Pimaga government station.

It was conducted by Southern Highlands provincial magistrate Vincent Eralia and witnessed by Nipa-Kutubu district administrator Joe Periap, and people from Oil Search Limited.

Kutubu local level government president John Pipi Kila, who is chairman of mining and petroleum in the Southern Highlands provincial assembly, named the chairpersons of sectors and urged them to work with him.

Kila said he was ready to work with Governor William Powi and Nipa-Kutubu MP Jeffery Komal.

He said within a short period of time, the province was experiencing big development changes and he believed more would be done in coming years.

“My councillors and I are ready to support the good work done. Every LLG president in the province must leave their political differences aside and do their part to develop their wards,” he said.

He thanked Komal for announcing important projects for the local level government two weeks ago.
