 SEVEN women will be contesting all the seven wards in the Lorengau Urban local level government in Manus.

Provincial election manager Pakop Posangat said yesterday that seven women were nominated this week.

This included candidate Ruth Mandrakamu who contested the 2012 national general elections will also be contesting the mayor’s seat.

He said nominations in Manus would end today at 4pm and the order of draw would also be conducted. 

In the Aua-Wuvulu local level government (LLG), six nominations were made for the presidency seat and 14 were for the ward councils.

In the Nigoherm LLG, six candidates have nominated to contest the president’s seat and 43 for the council wards.

In the Bisakani-Soparibeu LLG, 18 contestants will vie for the president’s seat and 43 for the council wards.

In the PNKA LLG, 16 contestants will vie for the presidency and 20 for the councils ward.

In the Lorengau Urban LLG, 28 contestants will vie for the mayor’s seat and 36 for ward councils.

In the Lelemadih-Bupichupeu LLG, 19 candidates have been nominated for the president’s sear while 57 have nominated for ward the councils.

In the Los Negros LLG, 10 have nominated so far for the president’s seat and 30 for the ward council seats.

For the Penabu Nali Sopat LLG, eight contestants have nominated for presidency and 39 for the council wards.

In the Tetidu LLG, seven contestants have nominated for presidency and 20 for the ward council seats.

In the Pobuma LLG, 12 have nominated to contest the president’s seat and 40 for the ward councils.

In the Balopa LLG,16 people have nominated to contest the president seat and 29 for the ward councils.

In the Rapatona LLG, 12 contestants will vie for the president’s seat and 21 for ward councilor’s seats.
