THE management plan for the redevelopment of the Kuk World Heritage Site in Western Highlands will be presented to Parliament soon.
Kuk Kawelka Incorporated Land Group chairman Michael Tori says the plan has been sighted by the development partners and is awaiting government approval.
“We will present the plan at parliament in two weeks to Western Highlands Governor Paias Wingti, Dei MP Wesley Nukundi, Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister, Agriculture Minister and other concerned departments and stakeholders,” Tori said.
He said it took more than 10 years to mobilise the landowners to form the ILG.
“After government approves the redevelopment management plan, the launching will take place,” Tori said.
“This project is intended to revive the World Heritage Site and bring services to the people of Western Highlands and Papua New Guinea.
“The Kuk World Heritage Site has huge tourism, agriculture and research potential to generate millions of kina into the country.”
He said government departments and development partners were willing to work with the ILG.
Tori said once the site was revived, tourism, agriculture and research activities would flourish.
