EAST Sepik’s Provincial Works Department has hosted a farewell dinner for outgoing manager, Paul Nindivi.
Nindivi has been promoted to regional works manager for the Northern and Island Region.
The farewell was held at the Talio Lodge in Wewak, last Friday.
He had been provincial works manager for nine years and will now be based in Lae, Morobe.
During the farewell, Nindivi told staff they had achieved many good things because of good working relationships they had.
“With all your support, we have made it this far, working together as a team we can build a nation in terms of infrastructure and human resource,” he said.
Nindivi said since 2004 most of the road network was bad, but today, all national roads in the province were in good condition, except some roads in the districts.
He added if provincial and district administrations worked with political leaders and the department, the roads could be kept in good condition.
On behalf of staff and section heads, human resource manager Samson Girimo thanked Nindivi for his leadership during his term.
He congratulated Nindivi on his new post and urged him to work closely with them.
