Workshop helps journos

THE Investment Promotion Authority (IPA) has conducted a workshop for journalists to assist them report on business and investment in the country.
The training was on the regulations administered by the IPA and the extent of its powers to help reporters be aware of the roles and responsibilities of each division within the organisation when reporting.
Representatives from other regulatory agencies also presented on how their functions within the government sector, such as the Internal Revenue Commission, PNG Customs Services, Independent Consumer Competition Commission and the Intellectual Property Office of PNG.
IPA managing director Clarence Hoot gave an overview of the mandated functions of his agency followed by the presentation from the other regulatory agencies.
