Workshop to improve skills

Education

ELEMENTARY school teachers in Kairuku, Central, attended a recent workshop to improve their teaching skills in order to provide a better quality of education.
Central education official Mathew Arua said the up-skilling was to ensure teachers and schools implemented the Education Department’s 1-6-6 format.
The training has been carried out for teachers in the three districts.
Arua said the training also helped teachers to reflect on what they had done so far and to assess where they could improve to make early childhood learning more effective.
“In this workshop, we identified the problems within our own settings and attended to those problems within the staff development itself.”
