World needs more leaders like Xi

Letters

A FULL page address by Chinese President Xi Jinping “Let the track of multilaterals light up humanity’s way forward” on page 13 of The National on Feb 4, should not go unheeded.
From a renewed world leader, it is awesome, enlightening and encouraging.
It underpins China’s philosophy and ideology which moved China to where and what it is today.
It highlights China’s progress going forward into the future.
Xi’s address was centred on global altruism and equilibrium in advancing the world into the future without focusing on ideological prejudice and imposition of hierarchy in cultural, social and monetary systems.
Here is a world leader of exceptional insight who looks beyond time from the perspective of where and what the world is today for a peaceful co-existence of mankind in times ahead.
His vision is achievable through bridging all divides in mankind today that are the cause of turmoil.
The world needs like-minded leaders of Xi’s thinking.
But China must be seen to do what it thinks and say too, without disseminating propaganda and rhetorics just to look good.
One thing you hardly see is Xi attacking and rebuking other world leaders and nations like other world leaders do.
He maintains his composure and integrity and allows his officials to do the talking.
He still manages to control the vast landmass of China with the largest population in the world.
