World title fight at complex

THERE are three days to the World Kickboxing Federation-sanctioned title fights in Port Moresby on Saturday at the Sir John Guise Indoor Complex. 

Professional boxer turned kick boxer Rickson “The Power House” Yamo faces stiff opposition from Finland’s Jarkko “Turbo Diesel” Jussila in a 12-round WKF welterweight title bout main event.

Andy “The Black Panther” Sam battles with India’s Paritosh “The Punisher” Nigam for the middle weight intercontinental title; Jonathan “Explosive” Tuhu faces Indonesia’s Alfa “Tornado” Tubagus for the lightweight South Pacific title; Jeffery “The Iron” Daka takes on Austrlia’s Ricky “The Corp” Mellor for the South Pacific super welter weight title and Kaupa “The Flame” Omena locks horns with Indonesia’s Eka “The Wrecker” Areka for South Pacific bantamweight title.

The WKF president Fritz Exenberger from Germany is expected to arrive in the country to officiate the title accompanied by the WKF head of referees Gerald Dittrich.

After this event Team PNG would travel to Sydney in August to compete for Australian titles, 

The international promoter Robert Wilsmith would also be in the country to conduct a two-day kickboxing and Thai kickboxing seminar and to select fighters to fight in Australia, Indonesia and Germany.

Tickets prices rang from K30  for  general seating to ringside seats for K150. Family tickets (five members) are K300 and corporate tables are  K3000 (10 per table).
