World Vision gets H1N1 vaccination

National, Normal

WORLD Vision staff received their H1N1 vaccination in their Port Moresby office last Friday.
They were tended to by health staff from the NCD provincial health office and the 6-Mile mobile clinic.
According to the Department of Health, to date only 12 cases of H1N1 have been reported in PNG.
Due to the limited number of influenza surveillance systems in PNG, this might not reflect the true number of H1N1 infections in the country.
All health workers in the country, pregnant mothers and those with underlying medical conditions have been identified as priority groups by the National Department of Health to be vaccinated.
World Vision partners with various agencies, including the Department of Health, to implement various health programmes.
