WORLD Vision Port Moresby has commended its partners for a successful celebration of Children’s Fun Day last week.

Area manager Stella Rambam said support from business houses and corporate groups enabled the staging of the event at Ela Beach, which looked at social and development issues faced by young Papua New Guineans.

The event coincided with the organisation’s 20 Days Activism, an annual event coordinated by the consultative implementation and monitoring council in partnership with non-government organisations (NGOs) and civil society groups to address developmental issues.

“The 20 Days Activism enables us to show support and acknowledge those facing social and developmental challenges and reflect on what is being done to address these issues,” Rumbam said.

Coordinator for the Children in Street Situation project Zohra Pilyo commended the churches, NGOs and other partners for their support.

“We look forward to working together in the future to address issues faced by children in National Capital District and PNG,” Pilyo said.

The Children’s Fun Day and the 20 Days Activism started on Nov  and ended last Tuesday.
