WEST Sepik Governor Tony Wouwou presented a truck to a school on Saturday.
According to a statement, Wouwou donated the K200,000 truck to Pamaya High School, one of only two high schools in the district, and opened a health centre staff house at Yiliwombuk village in the Nuku.
Nuku is isolated from the rest of West Sepik and is closer to East Sepik.
Funding for the truck came from the provincial revenue while the health staff house was funded under provincial services improvement programme.
“Quality education and health services are the foundation in building a good society and growth in human society,” Wouwou said.
“I decided to be present for this important occasion as it is the future of the people of Nuku.
“Although it is a small gesture, the truck and the house will act as a stepping stone for the people of Nuku.”
