Wrong reasons to be proud

I AM an Engan and I am very worried about the current election related situation in my province.
I have found out that one of the main causes of these problems is the way we Engans think, especially when it comes to our pride.
It is good to be a proud Engan but our pride has become a problem for us because our pride has blinded us and has made us ignore what is true and what is right.
Our Engan pride should not lead us to killing and destruction.
It must lead us to stand up for what is right and what is just.
How prouder would we Engans be if we would be known as respecters of life and properties.
How prouder we Engans would be if we would, in a short space of time, turn from being takers of life to protectors of life – from being destroyers of infrastructure to builders of infrastructure like our current governor who has lead us in this direction over the years.
In the next five years, let us Engans be proud to be known to stand up for what is right, true and just.
Let us be known to be proud to stand up for what is good, kind and graceful and, most of all, let us Engans be proud to be called Godly people.
Let us Engans be proud of the right reasons instead of the wrong ones.
Now is the time to change our mentality.
Not tomorrow, but now, to see a better Enga tomorrow.
