Young ambassadors Justus Joseph and Bethany Pakatoka, pictured, will be travelling to Russia today to take part in the International Football for Friendship programme which is part of the Fifa World Cup.
They were initially scheduled to travel out yesterday but their flight was cancelled.
Twelve-year-old Pakakota, from East Sepik, will be reporting on the programme as a journalist.
Pakakota is a Grade 7 student at the St Joseph’s International Catholic College in Port Moresby. “I am excited about the trip because this is my first time to travel to Russia, though I am a little worried about not having my parents with me,” Pakakota said.
Joseph, a Grade 6 student at the Koroboro International School in Port Moresby, said: “I feel good representing Papua New Guinea because I will be talking about friendship, but I am a little nervous.”
