Young people need advice
The National, Tuesday July 22nd, 2014
YOUNG people need health planning advice so that they are prepared in advance, Marie Stopes PNG director Tom Ellum says.
This would have an impact on future population, he said. He urged the government through the Department of National Planning, to include girls and young women when planning.
According to the key statistics, Marie Stopes PNG has been providing family planning services to over 100,000 clients since 2006, Ellum said.
However, the data from the MSPNG indicates that across the country, about a million women still needs family planning, meaning more must be done, he said.
The key policy strategy plan indicates the support from the GoPNG through the Sustainable Population Pilot, MSPNG aims to reach an additional 20,000 clients with family planning this year.
