MORE than 10,000 Seventh-day Adventist youths from the Highlands region are at Sumia village in Southern Highlands for their annual congress.
The youths are from Eastern Highlands, Chimbu, Jiwaka, Western Highlands, Enga, Southern Highlands, Hela and West Sepik.
Dr Nick Kross opened the one-week event on Monday.
Western Highlands youth director Pastor Timothy Michael said the youths were in high spirit.
He thanked Mendi-Munihu district administrator James Embiap, the only Government official present, for the opening.
“During such events, SDA youths from the highlands region mingle with each other and participate in activities to understand the love of God, which gives them some insight into the gift of life,” he said.
“The youths will march through Mendi town on Friday.”
He said the youths would break up camp on Saturday with prayers.
He thanked Lower Mendi community for supporting the event and making the youths feel welcome.
