MORE than 1,000 youths from the United church in the Vunamami Circuit of East New Britain (ENB) who attended a youth week-long convention were told to focus on their spiritual formation.
Businessman and former ENB governor and Kokopo MP Ereman ToBaining Jr, told the youths that the theme of convention “Spiritual formation of a learned generation” was a way forward of changing the pace in preaching and living the word of God.
ToBainnig said this during last Friday’s closing of the one-week spiritual youth convention held at the Bitapetep Pastorate which was attended by youth from Makurapau, Vunamami, Raluana and Bitapetep in Kokopo.
ToBaining said today’s youths were vulnerable to the negative impacts of modern technology in their lives in preaching and worshiping God. He urged the youths to be proactive in their spiritual development and to be engaged in all the many cross-cutting issues happening today in society.
ToBaining said, today’s generation should be well-educated in order to know the changes happening around them.
“We are privilege that the church of today, especially the United church including other mainline church agencies in the province, are privileged to practice the PPP (public-private partnership) concept.
“We can see that business houses are coming on board to support this one week youth convention.”
He urged the youths to know their roles and responsibilities in order to prosper in their spiritual lives.
The next Children and Youth Ministry convention will be held next year at the Vunamami Circuit.
