THE outbreak of cholera in Morobe province has been described by Minister for Health Sasa Zibe as the emerging health challenge currently faced by the country.
Mr Zibe urged the people to pay attention to public health messages that were being disseminated through the media and the Health Department.
He also admitted  errors within the Government which had played a major role in the emergence of this water-borne disease.
Mr Zibe said this in his speech when he addressed the people at the Niall Reserve at Eriku on Tuesday during a health rally.
He said the main purpose of the rally was to create awareness among the community on preventive measures, what to do if infected and how to deal with family members who become infected with cholera.
Mr Zibe advised the people to remain calm and not create speculation and  fear as this would only add to the problems that the health officers were already facing.
