Zogi Kilepas are premiers

 ZOGI Kilepas are the 2013 Goroka Rugby League champions.

They beat Solo Crusaders 12-4 at the Sir Danny Leahy Oval, in Goroka, on Sunday to take home the Kimisopa Cup.

Strong defence by both sides in the first half saw the teams tied scoreless at halftime.

Crusader Leo Fred tried his magic footwork to break past the Zogi Kilepas defence but was repeatedly stopped by Kafare Amos and Daniel Joseph.

Zogi Kilepas won a penalty in the second minute after resumption but their attempt at a field goal was astray.

Six minutes later Amos broke  the So­lo Crusaders defence to score the first try, which was converted by Leban Soso for a 6-0 lead.

In the 20th minute Solo Crusaders winger, Jopa Dick, worked his way through to score but Kay Kaupa missed the conversion.

Four minutes later Amos scored again and Soso converted to make it 12-4.

In the Under-19 grand final, Emo Brothers beat Yondu Coffee Warriors 4-1, while in the reserve division Zogi Kilepas beat Solo Crusaders 1-0.

In  in the women’s division, the Brumbies were comfortable 12-4 winners over the United Divas.
