THE O’Neill-Namah government is an intervention from God and will continue to rule, Finchhafen MP Theo Zurenuoc claimed yesterday.
He said the election of the government was the answer to the people’s prayers and that the people’s representatives had shown it through their actions.
He said the people wanted change and that transpired in parliament when 73 members of parliament moved to form a new government.
He said despite what happened after the decision of the court, parliament with its numbers had passed several Bills and decisions which disqualified Sir Michael Somare as a member of parliament after it rescinded the decision to grant him a leave of absence.
He said Sir Michael who claimed to be the father of the nation was the cause of the current political crisis.
He said if the Grand Chief was indeed the father of the nation, then he should have resigned to allow the healing process.
Zurenuoc said the country was facing “the work of greed and actions of evil”.
He said the actions of the Somare-led group amounted to tyranny.
Moresby Northeast MP Andrew Mald, while commenting on the contributions of the fathers of the nation such as the Grand Chief and Sir Julius Chan, urged Sir Michael to hand over the leadership of Papua New Guinea to young vibrant people.
Zurenuoc said Sir Michael should be relaxing and sitting back and advising young leaders rather than hanging on to leadership.
