ELECTION service providers owed by the National Government through the Electoral Commission will be paid their dues soon, Chief Secretary Manasupe Zurenuoc said yesterday.

In an address to last year’s national election service providers, Zurenuoc said the Government was working towards settling the issue.

“We appreciate your call. Yes, we are working towards resolving it and will sort these outstanding claims by the service providers,” he said

“I want to assure them that we will settle it.

Last week I went to ensure that process to settle this started. I ask the service providers to continue to support us to deliver the election. It is an important part of our Government process,” he said.

The government owes the service providers K12.8 million.

They are mainly businessmen and women who assisted in the general election last year, providing the Electoral Commission services such as vehicles and accommodation.
