Naru backs shipping firm

MOROBE Governor Kelly Naru has promised to see the government-owned Morobe Coastal Shipping Services (MCSS) continue its operation.
During a cheque presentation yesterday, Naru gave the assurance that his government with other stakeholders would ensure that the company continue to provided vital shipping services to the people.
He gave K500,000 from his services improvement programme funds to assist the company pay its debts, which is part payment of a K2 million committment.
“I appeal to my five MPs to stand with me and support this programme.
“We have a good team of management and a good board.”
Naru said MCSS was a company that belonged to the people of Morobe.
