MPs finally taking action in districts

Letters

SOME of politicians are taking desperate steps to maintain or regain the trust and support of their constituents as the elections draws closer.
Long abandoned or forgotten projects and pledges are suddenly being implemented or resurrected.
Whether the people can see these acts of desperation or not is another matter. For some, it’s better late than never.
For some MPs too, it’s been a genuine struggle to get their projects funded for various reasons including not being in the ruling party.
Over the recent months a lot of concerns have been raised about the woes of our public hospitals especially the cancer treatments and lack of drugs, equipment and specialists.
The secretary for Health keeps denying there is a shortage of drugs and medicines in public hospitals and clinics but the glaring reality was that patients were being sent
to private chemists with prescriptions.
Perhaps forwarding copies of the prescriptions to private chemists to him for refunds might convince him.
