Transfer of contract cements G4S

THE Corps Security contract, cementing the takeover by G4S has already been exchanged, with the sale to be completed once PNG’s regulatory controls are met.
Under the terms of the agreement, the existing Corps operation (including its general manager Andrew Cannock) will transfer to the new owner in due course.
With more than 3,000 licensed security staff and a team of expert managers and consultants operating from a network of 12 regional offices around the UK, combined with a CCTV monitoring centre based in Glasgow, Corps’ PNG division was its only operation outside of Britain.
Following a review of its existing structure, the management of the company decided to focus its resources on developing business within its home territory.
Under terms agreed with G4S, Corps fully expects  its former customers to  continue to receive the high level of service they had come to expect while the  employees would also benefit from being part of a larger local operation.
The Corps CEO  Peter Webster said: “We’re proud of what we have achieved in PNG and are pleased that we have managed to find a buyer that will continue to give the business the focus and investment that it deserves.
“While the decision to sell was not an easy one, it forms a key part in our ongoing strategy of enhancing Corps Security’s position as UK’s most respected and expert security solutions provider,” he added.
Corps was established 151 years ago, and is one of the oldest commercial suppliers of security services, offering specialist security services like threat reduction and business protection.
