PRIME Minister Sir Michael Somare is recovering gradually in Singapore, according to acting Prime Minister Sam Abal.
He said yesterday during a news conference at his parliament office that Sir Michael had undergone three operations and was gradually recovering while on medication.
Abal said according to information from Singapore, Sir Michael had been chatting with people while on his sick bed.
However, he said he could not comment much on his condition and how fast the East Sepik regional MP would recover.
Abal said Sir Michael’s doctors were in a better position to provide these information and when he would be fit to travel back home.
“Once again, thank you to all the people of Papua New Guinea for yourprayers and I urge you to continue praying,” he said.
Abal said since Sir Michael’s illness, the nation had been praying and wishing him well, a sign of respect.
