Kaputin claims third title in US

Papua New Guinean athlete Rellie Kaputin claimed her third NCAA division two national title on Saturday after winning the long jump with a leap of 6.24m at the National Indoor Championships in Kansas in the United States.
This follows her success in the triple jump last year when she won the indoor and outdoor national titles. It was a fitting end to a stellar career at West Texas A&M University (WTAMU). Kaputin was not at her best in the triple jump, but she still managed to collect six vital points for her team by placing third.
Her haul of sixteen points was again the highest contribution from any WTAMU athlete.
The Lady Buffs maintained their position as the top second-division team in the nation.
Kaputin can now look forward to the Commonwealth Games.
