PNG Power Limited (PPL) chairman Peter Nupiri has challenged the company’s employees to carry out their jobs honestly and diligently.
Nupiri said the company was providing them employment to support themselves and their families and they should refrain from
doing things that were illegal and not in the best interest of the company.
“PNG Power had been facing a lot of challenges over the past years in trying to provide affordable and reliable electricity services to the people and the country because a few employees are not doing their jobs diligently and honestly,” he said.
“Yes we have some very committed and hardworking staff (but) we have a few people who engaged themselves in doing illegal connections and theft of power.”
Nupiri said the practice must because PNG Power had been losing a lot of revenue through the use of power.
“We must not bite the hands that feed (us),” he said.
“PPL provides you the employment to provide food for your family and support yourselves.
“I encourage PNG Power Limited employees from security guards and tea-boys all the way up to the executive management team to do your job honestly and diligently to deliver power to the people of this country.”
Nupiri also called on the executive management team “to pull up your games as you are the front leaders of the organisation”.
