THE National Capital District Schools Rugby League selected side will have their first training run at the Murray Barracks Oval today.
The session is in preparation for the Confederation Championships next month says NCD Schools League co-coordinator Joseph Dongari. Dongari urged the selected students to come to training in their school uniform with their training gear so that they would be identified as students of schools that were part of the competition.
“After National Schools Rugby League Association was launched last year, NCD successfully completed its competition at Kaugere oval with grand finals for the Under-14, U16, U18 boys and U16 girls,” Dongari said.
“We had a school representative side (U16 and U18 boys) that went to Lae for the Confederation Championships last year.
“We’ve picked teams in the four divisions that will start training today at 2pm at Murray Barracks Oval.”
Dongari said the teams would have trial matches at the end of this week to pick a representative side for each of the age groups for the Confederation Championships in Port Moresby next month.
