Baptist Church women gather in Lae for conference

HUNDREDS of Christian women from the National Baptists Women’s Ministry Association of PNG are meeting in Lae for a five-day conference.
Lae Baptist Church secretary Timothy Kerowa said the triennial conference from Sept 17 to 21 was being held at Bugandi Secondary School.
“Baptist women from 14 provinces will be gathered at the venue,” he said. The theme of the conference is ‘Onto greater heights’. Coordinator Mary Napili said the conference was held every three years.
“It is a time for women in the Baptist Church to unite and share God’s word and also share a word of encouragement to each other,” she said.
Amelia Gavidi, the president of the South West Pacific Baptists Women’s Association is in Lae for the conference.
The other two speakers are Norma Semi, the president of PNG Baptist Women’s Association, and treasurer Susan Tapu.
