TEAM NCDC’s preparations for the 4th PNG Games was further boosted with a funding of  K300,000  from NCDC Governor Powes Parkop who made the presentation to the team officials on Sunday.
Team NCD started its suburban sports competitions from the begining of the year and have named their teams in respective sporting codes.
The K300,000 allocation will cater for accommodation, transport, meals and other aspects of their participation starting on the Nov 16.
“We are ready and we will take our opponents head on, and as the main hosts it is an opportunity for us to finish the competition on a high note, meaning toping the medal tally at the end of the day,”  Governor Parkop said.
All 19 provinces have confirmed their participation at the national games.
With the reduction of 45% discount on the airlines tickets for visiting athletes from outside centres, Governor Parkop said there should not be any excuses for other province’s failure to send their participants to the tournament.
Parkop said he was looking at the 4th National Games in Port Moresby to be the best ever PNG Games organised, much better than the 1991 South Pacific Games.
He also revealed that the opening and closing ceremonies would see choreographed performances to spice up the event and promote national unity among the sports men and women from all the provinces.
