Huon Gulf MP Ross Seymour has raised concern over the disposal and waste management of oil upstream of the Rumu River that has seeped into the river affecting the livelihood of Zifasing and Tararan villagers downstream.
The National visited the disposal site, pictured, on January 30 and followed the flow of the oil from its dumped site to main water course.
Seymour has engaged Morobe environmental officer Arthur Forepe to conduct assessments and collected soil, sand, water and plant samples for analysis.
