Nothing to show for:
Goroka district is the least developed of the eight districts of Eastern Highlands and, for that matter, the rest of the country. Despite the huge amount of DSIP funding districts receive from the government, Goroka has little to show for th money. The road from Kefamo to Lapigu, and the Kotunu, Akameku, Kaveve and Kofica roads have not been maintained for 15 years. Goroka district needs genuine, productive and considerate leaders who can deliver tangible services to the people.

Cars for cops:
An article titled, “Gordon police gets a new vehicle to fight crime” (The National, Feb 20) is hilarious. Why waste resources on them when they cannot address lawlessness at Port Moresby’s Gordon market which is known as the Bermuda Triangle? Do they have to drive around in cars and waste fuel when they can simply walk to the bus stop where crime is being committed on a daily basis?

Danger zone:
With regards to the member of Correctional Services who was robbed at Gordon, Port Moresby, I believe the robbers are part of a group pretending to sell mobile phones in front of the two bakeries. This area should be clear at all times so mothers and our sisters can walk to the bakeries without being threatened and harassed by troublemakers. While they are pretending to fix and sell mobile phones they are keeping an eye out for their next victim. Gordon should only be a transit zone and not for people to loiter.
