TWELVE people from across the country were announced in Port Moresby yesterday as winners of the Post PNG colour, post and win promotion.
The winners’ names were announced at the Post PNG headquarters in Konedobu. Each of the four regions had three winners each.
The Southern region was won by Daruis B. Peni, Nikini Undah and Beverley Risapi.
Mamose was won by Shamine Ben, Jeshla Kassai and Akai Lessley.
The Highlands’ winners were Jered John, Jetro Tepi and David Eternity , and the Islands was won by Michael Tade, Nigel Patrick and Lanny Magara.
The winners will recieve cash prizes, tablets and school merchandise worth over K14,000 from their provincial post offices.
Post PNG sales and marketing manager Vincent Kora said the promotion started last year in March and ran for 12 months.
“The purpose is to make young students and others who do not attend school to exercise their creativeness and intellectual thoughts through painting, drawing and writing,” Kora said.
“Not just painting or drawing but capturing a mental picture in their minds of how they see the diversification of Post PNG in 10 to 15 years’ time because one day they might end up working here.”
Kora said the promotion was to educate the new generation about how Post PNG was keeping up with market changes and new innovations because traditionally it was mainly about postal services.
He said two officers from the National Archives went through the paintings and drawings and picked those that best represent Post PNG as business.
Kora said Post PNG has 43 offices across the country and is PNG’s largest logistics network.
He said its services included financial services, retail, property leasing, airline ticketing and Easipay.
He thanked everyone who took part in the competition.
