Members of Catholic Church celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day

THE Catholic Church celebrated the Feast Day of Saint Patrick on Sunday, when a challenge was made to love and forgive others.
The day, which normally falls on March 17, was marked by the parishioners of St Patrick at Tent City.
The basic Catholic community members within the parish gathered to celebrate the day.
Groups sang songs, danced and marched.
The parish youths presented gifts to Fr Philemon Korake.
Korake said St Patrick started his life as a slave in England, and then in Ireland.
“When he grew up, he was set free,” he said. “When he returned to England, he became a priest.
“Out of love for Christ, he served people who once held him as a slave.
“That is something beautiful about St Patrick, which we want to follow.
“Whoever wronged us in the past, or despite whatever situation that has come up, let us forgive, forget and love each other by moving on in life.”
The day was an occasion for all parishioners to come together in worship, and celebrate with games, entertainment and dances.
