It’s a Sepik thing
A female colleague received 15 friend requests within the space of two hours yesterday afternoon. All the requests were blokes from East Sepik. She wondered why the all the men from the pukpuk province were after her. But then she remembered that tomorrow is the East Sepik Day celebrations in Port Moresby. Keeping the Sepik connection strong, it seems.
Croc fest
Our good Finance Minister Charles Abel was in Ambunti in East Sepik this week to witness the 13th Sepik River Crocodile Festival. Abel was told that a crocodile would be given to him as a gift. First question he asked the villagers was; Is it a big crocodile or a small crocodile? He got a small one. Wise decision.
Provincial Day
The usual provincial days celebrations have popped up again as we head to our Independence Day next month. Singsings, chants, food, and of course the live bands will be a huge attraction at the family day out. Celebrate with care.
NRL round
The Sea Eagles take on the Warriors tonight as we draw near to the finals. The Sea Eagles are rolling with six wins from their past seven games, including three in a row for the third time this season. Good luck to your team.
