THE increased Air Niugini flights to Goroka makes it the entrance to the Highlands.
The National Airports Corporation’s airport runway upgrade works continues in Mt Hagen, Tari and Mendi with Wapenamanda to start today.
“It is great to see Goroka receiving more frequent flights, coupled with our new airport it makes Goroka a lovely destination for a short visit and to enjoy the cool air,” Goroka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) president Chris Anders said.
“We have quite a few good hotels, guest houses and lodges.
“So we invite people to come and enjoy the Highlands.”
According to Air Niugini, flights from Port Moresby to Goroka have increased from 14 to 17 services in a week – the additional three flights operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
GCCI is a local organisation of businesses and companies in Eastern Highlands.
Many businesses are international operating companies with offices in PNG.
Chamber members include law firms, retailers, wholesalers, property developers, tourism companies, airlines, manufacturing companies, import and export businesses, banks, finance companies, legal advisers, IT and electronics firms.
