A senior magistrate and police in Lae have raised concerns over the increasing number of homemade weapons found in the settlements.
It includes homemade guns, wire catapult, sling short and pocket knives.
On Friday, a man was sentenced to 18-months in prison for producing homemade weapons.

The law should be tough on people producing homemade weapons as it puts the communities and people’s lives at risk.
