HEKARI United yesterday welcomed the arrival of two of their new signings from Brazil following the club’s attempts over the past six months to secure the players on loan.
Erick Joe Ribeiro Moreira Lopes, 23, and Vinicius Reis Kryzozun, 24, arrived in Port Moresby yesterday to boost the club’s Oceania Football Confederation league and the National Soccer league campaigns.
The Brazilian pair wasted no time going straight into a training session with the rest of the Hekari squad.
“It’s a great boost for all of us,” franchise owner Vonnie Kapi Natto said. “It’s great for our preparation, not only for the Champions League but they are going to be with us in our local league as well.
“We really want to promote soccer and they are here to be involved in the Hekari School of Excellence and academy.
“They (the Brazilians) said that they aren’t here to relax, but they are here to contribute where they can.”
Lopes is a centre back who has played at youth level for Vitoria and Confianca and has professional experience in the Sao Paulo State League’s fourth tier for Uniao Mogi.
Kryzozun is a left-footed attacking midfielder who played at youth level for Criciuma and Ponte Preta, two teams that recently played Serie A, the top tier of Brazillian Football. He also has some experience in the Sao Paulo state leagues.
Meanwhile, Kapi Natto also announced the pending arrival of a Samoan international tomorrow.

  • John and Vonnie Kapi Nato are the backbone of Sports in Papua New Guinea. These couple have always supported sports not only soccer but basketball and rugby league.
They are true mentors who bring inspiration to our local athletes in PNG.
They have always support sports with money from their own Sweat and gut.
These couple definitely need a medal from the Queen of England for their undivided support in Sports.

  • I applaud this move. Congratulations Hekari in your games.

On the same token the government must honor and award medals to the couples… John and Vonnie Kapi Nato for their involvement in support sports. They are true patriots of the country. No one can dig deeper into their own pockets to support sports as they have done over the years.

    All the best..
