Market authority swears in board members

THE East New Britain Market authority (ENBMA) recently swore in its new board members who are tasked with managing markets in the province.
The board is led by chairman Wilson Matava, who is also the provincial administrator.
The 14-member board, which would serve a three-year term, were sworn in by senior magistrate Sam Lavutul in Kokopo on Friday.
Market authority manager Ekonia Walom said the new board replaced the inaugural board which served for a decade, since its establishment in 2010.
“We are very fortunate and privileged that we have good members that form this board and we have a big role and responsibility that we are going to play to serve the people of this province,” Walom said.
Deputy administrator (social economy) Levi Mano congratulated the new members and thanked them for accepting their positions on the board.
He urged them to play an active role in the communities.
