SECURITY guards went on a rampage, causing thousands of kina worth of damage to the Central Provincial Administration building at Konedobu in Port Moresby, Central police commander Chief Insp Tapp Topai said. “They also damaged vehicles at the car park on Saturday morning at about 4am,” Insp Topai said.
“We are yet to know why they went on rampage.
“Police were deployed to monitor the administration area and are now investigating the incident.
“The suspects are known and are at large and we have told them to report to us for questioning.”
Insp Topai said the guards were drinking on the premises and went on a rampage, smashing glass windows and windscreens of four vehicles belonging to the administration and staff.
Sources said the security guards went to the extent of attempting to burn down the administration’s finance office because the administration didn’t pay up their security contract.

  • It seems that there are no winners.
    1) Central Provincial Administration; pay your dues. Why the delay tactic?
    2) Security Guards; wrong move. There are other alternative ways to better solve the problem instead of taking matters into your own hands. Drinking and disorderly behavior (conduct) won’t get you too far.
Taking matters into your own hands and destroying properties paid by the hand working Tax Payers of this Nation is a Criminal offense.
You all deserved to be punished for your childish acts.
