Time flies
And we are only 355 days to the next Christmas. Boy, does time fly.
Not happy
Colleague tells his pal who wished him Happy New Year that there is nothing to be happy about as they are both broke as church mice. Loan sharks, please help!
Until dawn
Not as loud and spectacular as the fireworks at the Sydney Harbour Bridge but we did have our own versions of getting 2021 here, although we continued until dawn long after the Sydneysiders had gone to bed.
A reminder
School starts in a few weeks’ time. Are you ready?
Remembering 2020
Someone posted this on how he would remember 2020.
2021 resolution
I am walking into 2021 with a clean heart and mind. If you owe me, don’t worry about it. If you wronged me, it’s all good, lesson learned. If you are angry with me, you won, I’ve let it go. If we are not speaking, it’s cool, I truly wish you well. If you feel I’ve wronged you, I apologise, it was not intentional. Life is too short for pent-up anger, holding of grudges, extra stress or pain. I am making 2021 a year of positivity and a season of forgiveness.
Making hay
Everyone was being turned away from the only two taxis parked outside a major supermarket in the city on New Year’s Day. Colleague discovered that drivers had been demanding an extra K20 upfront before the trip.
Into 2021
And I said to the man at the gate of the New Year: “Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown.” And he replied: “Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the Hand of God. That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way.” (Extract from a poem by Minnie Louise Haskins published in 1908).
