THE Konoagil women’s market association in New Ireland has been given a truck by the provincial government to transport their produce to the market.
Governor Sir Julius Chan received a request last year from the women.
“We never forget Konoagil,” he said.
“It will become the first Kona instead of the last Kona.”
Work on road along the east coast of Konoagil is progressing.
Sir Julius donated musical instruments to the Siar youth choir through chief Patrick Toarbusai after their performances during the recent council of elders meeting on Lambom Island.
A sporting stadium at Kopkop, under construction, is expected to open on Sept 16.
“We continue to implement and deliver countless projects not because it is easy but because we have the future of all New Irelanders in mind,” Sir Julius said.
