WEST New Britain province is preparing for counting after completing polling on Monday.
Provincial electoral manager Joap Voivoi said assistant returning officers would be trained today on the counting process.
He said a briefing for candidates and scrutineers would be conducted tomorrow followed by a briefing for counting officials on Friday.
Voivoi said counting would begin either on Saturday or Sunday morning.
Polling at a ward in Talasea Open was deferred from Saturday to Monday because of bad weather on Saturday.
He confirmed all ballot boxes and papers were now locked at the police station, awaiting counting.
He said polling in the province was conducted in an orderly and peaceful manner.
Voivoi said only a few eligible voters missed out because their names were not on the rolls.
Counting will be held at the Catholic diocese home, Peter Torot hall.
