CUSTOMERS nationwide can now order products sold at Prouds PNG online that will be delivered to them using the postal service, thanks to a partnership agreement between the company and Post PNG Ltd.
Prouds PNG, a subsidiary of the City Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) Group, is the country’s duty-free and travel retail operator.
Post PNG chief executive officer Peter Tepure said the partnership was important as CPL was going to use the postal service to deliver its quality products to the market across the country.
“What’s happening today is that a lot of people are accessing quality products only here in Port Moresby and if you look at Prouds, they only have a shop here (Central Waigani) and Vision City,” he said.
Tepure said with Post PNG’s 40 branches located nationwide CPL would be able to serve customers better.
“Our role in this partnership is delivering the products to the customers’ doorsteps,” he said.
“Customers will be ordering online, and the role of Post PNG is to ensure that we pick up that product and deliver to all our branches across the country.
“So customers can walk into the post office and pick up their items.”
Tepure said Post PNG had developed a good relationship over the years with a City Pharmacy located in some of its branches.
“So the next few weeks I believe customers will really enjoy access to these new products now at the provincial level,” he said.
“It can be in Manus, Buka, Rabaul, any province in Papua New Guinea, you will be able to pick up your item when you order online.”
Prouds PNG operations manager Sunny Chand told The National that this was something new for the people of PNG. “People have been buying overseas,” he said.
“Now they can access locally as we are bringing this service to the PNG market.
“And they can access these products through Prouds online shopping.”
Post PNG national retail manager Vincent Kora told The National that it was a one-year trial and would be reviewed after that period.
