A COMMUNITY leader from Tsak  Wapenamanda electorate, Enga province, has rejected claims of a particular ballot box being hijacked.
Ben Wia, a candidate who had contested for the electorate in the elections, alleged in The National last Thursday that the ballot box for Tagaimanda Rest House in Tsak local level government area was hijacked.
Karapus Kaenge, a community leader from the Hulidani tribe, said yesterday that Wia’s claims were baseless.
He said that Tagaimanda is the name of the council ward and it comprises Hulidani, Mamakin and Gipin tribes, who voted peacefully at Wampus Primary School ground in public.
“My councillor Thomas Tandawai and I made sure that polling was free and fair and we only asked the presiding officer and the security personnel to provide us security to vote at the school ground.”
Kaenge said that Wia  is making false accusations and allegations. which are baseless.
