THE public service must now take over the task of implementing the PNG Vision 2050, acting chief secretary Manasupe Zurenuoc said.
He made this call when dispatching and commissioning departmental heads, heads of statutory authorities, provincial administrators, and constitutional office holders during a luncheon yesterday in Port Moresby.
Mr Zurenuoc said the occasion was designed to “commission and charge” heads of public service agencies to go forth and make the vision work and present in their respective agencies by implementing it.
He supported what the president of PEA and member of the NSP
task force, Michael Malabang said during the 34th triennial PEA congress; “Public service is the key stakeholder, driver and implementer of the PNG Vision 2050 and it must rise to the occasion.”
Mr Zurenuoc added that Vision 2050 was “now our Bible which will overarch, guide and direct our work” setting the seven focus pillar areas of attention for the Government, public and private sector workers and other stakeholders.
He said the vision was a guide on how to link up and work in synergy and cooperation with one another from 2010 onwards to achieve the ultimate goal and to be ranked in the top 50 in the United Nations HDI.
