CPL gives items to orphanage

SOME orphans at the Gerehu orphanage are now ready to move into school life with the help of the community and yesterday part of the community, the CPL Group, topped up some of their needs.
Ten children aged six to 15 received mattresses, pillows, stationery, school bags and shoes,  tables and desks, a rice cooker and six bicycles.
“We are grateful to CPL for their kind assistance,” the national director of PNG Christian Community Services (PNGCCS), Collin Pake, said of the items worth about K5,000.
“I would also like to appeal to communities, churches and business houses to support these children. You’ll never know – one of them might become a prime minister or a minister.”
The children are a part of the PNGCCS programme Strongim Pikinini, which targets the disadvantaged and vulnerable children in this country.
Pake the organisation has helping children in need since 2007 but unfortunately it could not take in more as spaces were limited.
