Hela needs experienced leadership

I REFER to the press release by our Hela Governor Anderson Agiru (July 15) regarding the Hela administrator’s post.

I totally agree with him that Hela needs a smart person to run the administrative arm of the province, someone who possesses both private and public management skills, not recycled public servants.

I also believe that the Hela people have the right to give constructive ideas on how their new province should run both administratively and politically through the media without fear or favour.

We must all work together for the good of Hela because some of us were watching from a distance while others worked hard to achieve what is here today.

We now have one of our own sons, William Bando, as Hela’s provincial administrator and he needs our support and guidance.

He was successful in ensuring that Hela achieved provincial status.

We should give credit where it is due and not play politics.
